My name is Jan Dorris. I make sculpture and mixed-media  monoprints. Currently I am studying printmaking at the University of New Mexico in Taos. One of the most interesting aspects of printmaking is the opportunity to experiment with the process.  My work focuses on the illusion of space both with color and black and white.

I often imagine that my prints are three dimensional, perhaps because I began my art career making sculpture.  I have worked in wood, stone, and wax, but clay has always been the most appealing to me.  I am currently experimenting with my unique surface treatment for ceramic sculpture.
